Places to Visit From our Holiday Apartments in Alora
Andalucia is not simply a package holiday destination that was put on the map for the sun seekers of Europe ’s colder climes. Look beyond the sun soaked beaches of the Costa del Sol and you will find that Andalucia has been defined by its Moorish legacy that dates back to the 8th century when a mixed force of Arabs, Syrians, Berbers and Egyptians (the “Moors”) came from North Africa to take over the Mediterranean coast and advance into western Europe. |
Malaga has retained its Spanish charm and character despite all that is going on in Costa-del-Sol. The capital of Malaga region, which continues to be an important trading port for Andalucia and Spain, Malaga manages to give an impression of a smaller town rather than a metropolis of 1.5 million people. |
El Chorro & Ardales Lakes. 10 minutes away is the fabulous canyon of El Chorro where the Rio Guadalhorce rushes through the rocks. The speed of water depends on the amount of rain - it can slow to a mere trickle at the end of the summer! You can reach it by train once or twice a day depending on season, you have to get a taxi back or simply drive there but of course you could borrow our mountain bikes |
